I’d like to pat myself myself on the back for at long last setting foot at the Legazpi Sunday Market. More pats for Kevin’s and Reggie’s backs for pointing out the stuff I ought to try.
Gorbachev’s Goulash of Kalinka Home Cooked Delicacies
It’s beef cooked to perfection in tomatoes and paprika and some dill. It’s served on mashed potatoes.
Again, my camera phone did not give it justice. Just trust me. It’s really, really good. For 200php you can enjoy the Russian version of the classic Hungarian dish.
The friendly owners of Kalinka. 🙂 Guys, do you recommend any good vodka concoction to go with goulash? :p
Steak Burrito of Chili-Billy Tex-Mex Cuisine
This was the boys’ choice for lunch.
I don’t know, the rice was so thick one could barely see the slices of steak. But well, Reggie and Kevin seemed to enjoy their steak burritos, so it must have been delish.
Will probably try their food this Sunday.
Albeit he liked the steak burrito, Reggie was still hungry and bought nasi goreng (?).
And I got some Long Island Deli Strawberry Yogurt that I didn’t quite like. Bland.
I wish I bought some baklava instead.
Anyway, I was still a happy girl!
I thought I’d be happier in the White Space Market, but I was dead wrong because I’m not from the alta sociedad. LOL. Spotted: Armida Siguion Reyna and (maybe a look alike of) Baby Arenas.
White Space is in Pasong Tamo Ext. I wouldn’t go back unless I badly need to get something. But what could it be? Errr… jewelry? Artisan cheese? Clothes that I will never figure out where to wear? Maybe for Margarita Fores’ brunch! 😀
There were items that I liked and considered buying, like Fruit Garden’s jams and Leyende’s oraganic skin and body care products. I guess just not in WS, but from my next weekened market destination…

/ November 25, 2010Thank you, Stephanie! 😀
There are a lot of other cuisines in Legazpi Sunday Market. I only fell into a food coma after finishing the awesome goulash and inferior yogurt shake so I didn’t get to buy from the other stalls.
I’m following your blog. Happy Thanksgiving again! 🙂

/ November 28, 2010Yikes! You’re right. *borrowing from that classic Burger King ad, sort of* WHERE’S THE STEAK? We Pinoys are psycho about our rice, aren’t we?
