PacShet

He started off strong. By almost midfight, Bradley seemed to be bouncing back and throwing jabs at him but Manny was still giving the opponent his punches.

But he earned my respect and admiration because he really is a damn good fighter. Even his loss now does not stop me from respecting and admiring him. Peace.

Life goes on.

image

Time pers, time pers…

Pahabol: Ang galing mo, Jessica Sanchez!!! Dapat talaga, ikaw naging American Idol eh!

At… :p

The Return of Friday Five

It’s Friday and the 1st day of the last month of the 1st half of the end of the world of the year.¬†Whew!¬†Thought of reviving the Friday Five section of my blog just so I can post¬†ANY 5 RAVES/RANTS that¬†I feel like letting the whole world know. I think the last time I had an F5 entry was when I was still blogging in blogspot. Been so long since I last had this quick satisfaction of attempting to¬†immortalize the mundane and seemingly mundane here in the www.

Here it goes. My first F5 after a lengthy time…

1 TURON

image

I love buying turon from Jollijeep. It’s only 12php. Don’t really care if there’s langka (jackfruit) inside as long as it’s glazed with a crazy amount of sugar. Turon is my favorite local sweet snack. You can have your bananacue and camotecue. Gimme my turon.

Also…

Q: Anong saging ang nagma-magic?
A: Eh di… turon!!!

2 KICK DRUM HEART by THE AVETT BROTHERS

image

This¬†indie rockband song was introduced to me by Eunice. There’s a sidestory about hearing this upbeat song in the wedding of a very non-upbeat bride and groom.

You can listen to the song here.

“I won’t look back anymore, I left the people that do. It’s not the chase that I love, it’s me following you.”

Yes, I am cheesy like that. :p

3 DOWNTON ABBEY

image

Just finished Season 1. Will start season 2 tomorrow while I’m vacationing in Bataan. Liking it because of the dresses, the witty dialogue, and Maggie Smith. I’ve loved Maggie Smith since Sister Act. Siya si Madre Superiora. ūüôā

4 FREE CONCERT TICKETS

image

Phil Star delivered compli NKOTBSB concert tickets to the office today. I was thrilled to receive it even if I won’t be able to go and see Nick Carter in flesh. Just as I mentioned, I’ll be in Bataan. Will just videoke my alltime fave BSB hit, Anywhere For You. Uhuh. That saksakan ng cheesy song. I’m so fucking consistent, yeah?

5 GRIMACE

image

I’ve always loved Grimace and this picture just made me love him more! Grimace is infinitely better than that dinofag Barney.

Til next Friday! ūüėČ

Happy weekend!

SHOWTIME: Havey na Havey!!!

For the 2nd time, our team, Team¬†EPERFORMAX Recruitment¬†got invited to be part of Showtime’s audience last January 6. I was thrilled to be inside the studio again because I really had fun in our first visit. While we’re waiting for the show to start, tinuturuan na kami ng dance steps nila Tito Mel (Feliciano) and Master J aka Papa Piolo and Sam Milby.¬†At dahil hindi talaga kaya ng powers ko na sumayaw in public,¬†‘yung steps lang from That’s The¬†Way¬†Uhuh Uhuh I like¬†It ang na-absorb ko. :p¬†

The show started and it was great to see Kuya Kim,¬†Anne, Vice Ganda, Jugs and Teddy again. Too bad Vhong the birthday boy wasn’t there. Nasa¬†shooting yata for Bulong. So, kudos to her for that! Si Ryan Bang… well… ayun.

I’m happy that he still remembers me. LOL. Salamat nga pala kay Kuya Kim for giving me 30 seconds of fame when I helped him with the 2nd trivia for that show. More importantly, salamat sa kanya at sinabi niya na pwede akong mag-artista. Naniniwala ako sa kanya. Haha.

Vhong wasn’t there, but she was able to take on the stage alone. I remember, nung nasa GMA 7 pa siya, hindi ko siya nakitahan ng potential at all to be great. ABS-CBN can really make things happen. More power to you, Anne. At sana sa susunod na punta ko sa Showtime, ay makapagpapicture na ako with you. LOL

Jugs and Teddy. Hindi ko na sila paghihiwalayin… they are great individually but¬†together they are the bomb! :p Sayang walang Himigsikan when we went there, ang saya siguro makijamming sa kanila. Who would have thought that these two vocalists from Itchyworms and Rocksteddy could make it this BIG? :p

At shempre pa, si Vice Ganda. Kaloka si Vice. Ang bilis talaga ng utak. Kasing bilis siguro niya tumakbo as Petra. Blah.) ūüôā Way to go, Vice!

Dumako naman tayo sa contests. The groups that performed were all good. I hope that more kids (?) would spend time in performing arts than doing drugs. Seryoso iyan. One of my relatives just got brought to rehab and it’s not a laughing matter. The winning group performed a spoof of 300. Spartans talaga sila. ūüôā Kaya naman ang group nila, nakakuha ng perfect 10 from all the judges and madlang people!

Itsurang lalabas sa Shake Rattle and Roll.

BLOGGING? Haha.

Meron ding new games, yung huhulaan ng contestants yung sagot from the acting of the hosts and the Showtime Lolos. Ang sagot dito was BOY ABUNDA.

The show ended around 3 and we were all smiling from our 2nd Showtime experience. Great job to the cast and crew! Great job, ABS-CBN. Showtime is infinitely better than Wowowee. I watched¬†Wowowee last year and I was extremely disappointed. Wala si Pokey noon, nasa US yata. I only watched its last episode. Sana mailagay kahit na once a week sila Pokwang and K Brosas sa Showtime. Feeling ko, patok sila doon. ūüôā

Kumakalam na ang mga sikmura namin when we stepped out of ABS-CBN. We ate before the show, but natunaw na kinain namin dahil sa pagsayaw at pagcheer. We went to Mister Kebab to eat and talk about our favorite Showtime moments. At shempre pa, almost all of us were singing the LSS na mahirap matanggal… “This is your show, This is your time… Magpasikat ka… it’s SHOWTIME!”

Thanks to Vincci Larang for the pictures!

Thanks to my friends who watched, especially those TFC subscribers na nag-abang talaga para kantyawan ako. Hehe.

Bus. Sash. Gloves.

Sorry, I’ve only been writing about my foodscapades and other shallow (I love you, friends and food, but you know what I mean) details of my life lately that it made me wonder if I still give a fxck about the other things going on around me.

I only had to wonder for 2seconds. The answer, naturalmente, is yes.

I’ve been¬†updating my fb and twitter about my thoughts on the latest news. I just have had not enough time (and dedication) to put in in my blog. Not that you care. LOL.

—–

Anyway, my thoughts…

photo c/o Yahoo!

On the hijacked tourist bus…

I was one of the thousands of Filipinos who watched this sad, sad event. May the souls of those killed rest in peace and may the Chinese not bomb us for what happened to their fellowmen. If you want revenge, follow Mendoza in hell and hit him with Satan’s pitchfork. True, our policemen lacked the necessary training and arms to handle Mendoza, but what they really lacked there¬†was the common sense to not arrest the brother.

On Venus Raj winning 4th runner-up…

I am not a fan of Venus, but I was thrilled that she made it to the Miss Universe Top 5 and snagged 4th runner-up. To all her haters, kayo kaya ang sumali at tignan natin kung makapasok kayo… sa pinto ng audition. LOL. I admit I was a tad disapponited with her answer in the final q, but I’m still proud that she answered with complete confidence and grace. I am getting sick though of the ubiquitous usage of Venus’s major, major answer. Give it a break, people.

On Mayweather’s ridiculous racism…

I know, I know. I used to wish for Pacquiao to lose a boxing match, so that the misinformed kids who blindly idolize him will focus on their studies instead of hitting faces to stardom.¬†When Pacquiao won the match against Hatton, he won my admiration and respect. Now that he’s pitted against¬† Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., he’s got my support. Yaaay to Rep. Emmanuel Pacquiao for being a gentleman and not verbal-boxing the chickenshit dumbass that is Mayweather.

That’s all for now. Back to regular blogging.

Food and friends. Soon…. LOVE. Hahahaha!

Winning and World Cup

Team PG Society finally won 1st place in Murphy’s Quiz Night. I’m glad I got to answer some questions, even if only in 2 categories: plants and literature. Joko’s friends had the answers to q’s about politics, sports, battle sites etc. Grabe si Vlad… pati Zimbabwe leaders kilala!

Click to enlarge and see the proof that we won 1st place, biiiittttchessss!

Because of the team’s consecutive’s winnings, dinner was free. I had fish and chips, pumpkin soup, sticky toffee pudding and coffee.

Free shot, pumpkin soup and brewed coffee… I have no picture of the toffee pudding because I finished it off before i can take a picture of it. Yes, it was good. :p

This is beer battered cream dory fillet with tartare sauce, mushy peas and chips

After the quiz, we watched the Japan-Paraguay game. It was my first time to watch a whole World Cup game, and I gotta say that I enjoyed it. We were cheering for Japan (being pro-Asians and all) but I had the occasional, “Go Paraguay!!!!” whenever a hot player of theirs was focused.

Soccer is THE game. Love to kick balls literally and figuratively. :p

We’re sad because Japan lost. Kawawa when the team and fans were showed crying. =`( Buti na lang there’s Shiraz Cabarnet Sauvignon. Helped numb the pain. LOL.

Sticker, Baby, Sex, Pita, Smoke

These are the things that made me happy in the last 72 hours…

A picture from Carla’s birthday salubong uploaded by Tamille in Facebook. I love my inaanak Caitlin. She’s the cutest! And I love the blue lighting!

A sticker from the funrun attended by my boss. Hehehe. Thanks, Acey! :p

Got dvds of seasons 2 and 3 of Secret Diary of a Call Girl from my suki, Ate Sally. Saw this line on season 3’s cover: “It’s been a business doing pleasure with you.” :p

Dinner at Rustan’s Gourmet-to-Go. Had this delicious and light Mediterranean Pita with snowpea (or was it split pea) soup. Also ate half of Joko’s lasagna that she paired with creamy tomato soup.

My favorite ex visited me and brought his favorite book. I’m not a fan of Gaiman, but I’ll read this while waiting for him to bring me Hunger Games. Plus, reading has become my substitute¬†for ¬†smoking.

Babasagin ko na ang aking katahimikan.

Well, katahimikan pagdating sa usaping politika.

Does that automatically mean na friends sila ni Villar? Kumain ako ng Chowking Orange Chicken to support Jericho. Does that mean na friends kami? Hindi! Waaaah… Echo! Lol, I digress.

Matanglawin and Matangpuyat

Went to the taping of Showtime last Thursday. Others wanted to have their picture taken with Anne Curtis or Vice Ganda. Me, well I got what I came for…

Thank you Jugs for calling Kuya Kim and taking the picture. You rock!

I’ve been a fan of Kim Atienza since I watched him being buried alive in an episode of Matanglawin. That for me is proof that he is not your regular celeb. Kuya Kim’s a superstar! Yes, I’m a fangirl! ;p

—–

I enjoyed Showtime! I had more fun than the time we went to Umagang Kay Ganda. Needless to say, Showtime is infinitely better than Wowowee in my book. Showtime’s fun from start to finish and I just find it strange and unfair that MTRCB suspended them again. Why can’t MTRCB just ban Rosanna Roces?

MTRCB, kindly use this week to think of the repercussions of your actions. You are a frustration to a lot of Filipinos.

Rossana Roces, may you rot in z-list hell.

Free Food, The Clown & TJ Manotoc

The past few has just been crazy with a capital F (hell yeah, F!!!!!!) because of numerous job fairs we have to attend.

Three consecutive days of 2 separate job fairs is no joke, especially if there’s another jf to attend to before the week ends plus a dozen other things I need to accomplish by the weekend. Please remind me to buy myself a giant tub of frozen yogurt ice cream this weekend as a reward for not succumbing into the temptation of lying and calling in sick. Mmmm… well, it won’t really be lying. I’m really getting sick… in the head. :p

I’d like to thank * whomever’s responsible for the happy things I got to today that help me keep my mental lucidity. Well, kind of.

1. Free food! The number 1 thing I love about mall job fairs is the free food from the organizers and some of the exhibitors. Yaaaay for Kenny Roger’s lunch and McDonald’s snack. Last night, Gerry’s Grill for dinner. Just a suggestion, exhibitors… Cyma? Hehe. :p

Dessert last night at Gerry’s Grill, Trinoma… thanks Ice for your giving me yours. I’m glad you’re weird and don’t eat leche flan. More for me! Woohoo!

2. The Clown of CVG. I don’t really like clowns/magicians/mimes, but this one I likey. AND YES, SA MUNDO KO, GUSTO KO SIYANG TAWAGING CLOWN. WALANG PAKIALAMAN. He goes around the activity center performing tricks using strings, coins and cards. I’m not really sure what his relevance in the event is, but he’s the only reason why I don’t mind having one of our biggest competitors around. Tomorrow, I hope he visits our booth again. I’m going to pester him for his name. I shall hit him with a rabbit from a tallhat if I have to.

I like his colors. He can also pass as an ePerformax mascot. =)

3. Mr. TJ Manotoc. My mommy’s favorite host-anchor-sportscaster went to the job fair late afternoon to get material for a feature about call centers and bpo’s. Got to talk to him briefly regarding job fair stats and applicant quality. I now know why my mom likes him. He’s articulate, eloquent, has the down to earth vibe, can extract answers from you by means of simple chikahan AND he’s cuter than Borgy. Yes, sabi talaga ni Mama ‘yan. Lalo na ‘yung last part. :p
