Not So Big and Not So Tasty

I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds in the last couple of years weeks but I had to give in to the latest addition to the McDonald’s Philippines’ menu– the Big N’ Tasty. I also thought it’s a great way to cheer me up after the bogus turnout of the Pacquiao and Bradley match.

So I went to the nearest McDonald’s to overwhelm my senses. Well, at least, that’s what their ad says about the burger…

A large meal (burger, drink, fries) costs 165php. The burger patty is the same size with what they use for the Quarter Pounder. Tomato, check. Lettuce, check. Onions, check. Cheese, check. Smokey Sauce… I didn’t really taste the smokiness. Maybe the kitchen crew didn’t put enough. *shrugs*

The box says True Greatness, and I simply must disagree. I lovelovelove McDonald’s but it’s a letdown for me. Not saying that I hated the taste, it’s just that it wasn’t what I was expecting. Nothing impressive about this product. It’s just so-so. 😦  But hey, I was pretty full after eating the meal. Which is a mystery how I manged to devour a plateful of TGIF’s Nachos after 2 hours… Hehe.

My True Happy Meal

image

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of McDonald’s. I’ve loved it since I was a little girl. I didn’t care if I was the only one who wanted school supplies printed with Grimace’s cute, weird face when all of my classmates were crazy over Jollibee (that gay insect). Well, I never cared for Ronald. I will never like clowns. *cringe*

I had a medium Big Mac meal for breakfast yesterday.

It was almost a year since I last had one so I savored every bite of the Bic Mac, pausing every other bite to say ang sarap ang sarap saraaaapppp. When it came to the last bite, I looked at it and said goodbye. It was a truly satisfying meal. It will always be my true happy meal. 🙂

I love you, McDonald’s forever and ever! 🙂

Come in hungry. Walk out happy.

I was intrigued by this burger-burrito joint when I saw an ex become a fan of it in Facebook. Odd name, I thought, sort of reminded me of the (in)famous Ninja Burger with the tagline: Ninja Burger bring happy life, healthy life. Guaranteed, or we commit seppuku.

AnywayJoko and I had dinner in Army Navy and here are some of the food we had.

Vegetable Burrito with salsa and lime
Yummy! Like Joko said, “You wouldn’t miss meat.”

Freedom Fries
Winner! Think Twister Fries gone crunchy!

Classic Burger with extra cheese
Delicious, but I’ve tasted better. Yaaay for the juicy pattie. No yay for the close to nil smoky factor. :\ Eh bakit ba, gusto ko ng carcinogens.

Strawberry Milkshake
A little more than ok. Check for the just-right sweetness aka hindi ako na-uta. X for the superpale color. Sorry, visual eater ako. Ano daw? Hehe.

Libertea
Really good frothy iced tea. Tastes like the real thing. Joko said. Whatever that means. :p

Other blog-worthy (says me, of course) of Army Navy…

Oooh… metal. Lots of metal.

Signs. Pretty. Joko in her naaaliw/nagpapacute/distracted mode.

Me, having a mouthful… of meat. Errr… burger.

I agree. Mission accomplished.

Need to go back there and deal with the Bully Boy Burger with triple quarter-pound beef patties. I am not to be bullied by anyone! Or anything!!!!

:p
