The Fast & Furious Baguio Trip

Joko nailed the Baguio-LU trip description in her latest FB note, Amazing and Bitin! True, true! Last weekend was fantastic in different levels and I wish me and the go-go friends can do it again soon!

*****

Amazing: The energy I possessed to pack my things and get to the meeting place Shell-Emerald on time when I only had 8 hours of sleep—accumulated in 3 days. Didn’t even get to sleep much in the trip, maybe because I had too much fun with Kass, Kwe, Maia, Ejay and Daryl in NLEX teasing Richard about overtaking cars, trucks, and jeeps.

Bitin: After dropping our things off in Bauang (where Kwe’s ancestral house is/our home for 2 days), Maia and the boys went to San Juan for the MSA Competition (Ejay competed) while Kwe, Kass, and I went to Baguio to reunite with the LLs Joko and Carla who got there a day ahead. Because there were no aircon buses available and we didn’t want to keep the LLs (Lesbian Lovers) waiting, we decided to take the hataw bus instead. Gutom na gutom na daw kasi si Joko kahit na lumalantak naman ng pretzels habang nagrereklamo na

Humahataw sa daan, so pray for dear life!

lunch @ Cafe by the Ruins * boat ride with the go-go girls

Amazing: We proved that there really is a God because we made it to Baguio alive despite the extreme hatawness of the hatawbus driver. Following Carlo “The Baguio Authority” Errazo’s itinerary, us girls had our brunch in Café by the Ruins. Mmmmmm bacon, daing, French toast, eggs and eggs and eggs, fresh fruit shakes, and probably the best panna cotta I’ve ever tasted. They forced me to order the Spanish omelet with foccacia by the way. Hehe.

Bitin: We went to Rizal Park, Burnham Park, and Central Market after for the boat ride (na nagmistulang kami ang tourist attraction dahil ang tindi naming makatili at makasigaw), belts and wallets shopping (got me a shiny red balloon… made me darn easy to find in the crowd! :P), and hoarding of Mikasan Chocoflakes, Tamtanco Lengua de Gato (better than Good Shepherd’s, so glad I listened to CB!), and Patience Bugnay. Didn’t get to go to the other spots we planned on visiting because we were all itching to be in LU already. And and and, the ukay-ukay sucked. Presyong Maynila na. So that’s one item forever crossed out from my Baguio list.

feeling Ang TV kids * shiny ref balooon

Amazing: Roadtrip to LU was funfunfun because Jake’s so pogi, even if Kwe wants to turn him into blackgirlcar by attempting to rename him Shaniqua. Wtf? Hehe. Funfunfun 1 ½ hours of chocolate mints, kulitan, and 90’s music by DJ Carla na kinarir talaga ang dancesteps ng The Sign, Always, at Tootsie Roll!

Bitin: Because the surfer girls couldn’t wait to get stoked, we went straight to San Juan. Uh no no, we went to Mc Do first for merienda. This is where Carla and I realized na mag-LL rin ang mga bituka namin. Lamon kung lamon. Chicken, spaghetti, sundae, fries… parang hindi kami nabusog sa Baguio. So what’s bitin about this? Kasi after eating, masama pa loob namin and we were thinking of what to eat next and we were already wishing it was dinner already! Gluttony rocks! But not as much as my friends rock. Haha, senti! :p

Amazing and Bitin: Check out the second part of my 1st ever road trip with my Go-Go Friends in the next entry.

Before the icing hits the cake

Rob said my reaction to the whole “who’s this” shebang yesterday was irrational. Why didn’t I even give the schmuck the benefit of the doubt, he argued. He reminded me that he lost his mobile phone last month and that, in fact lost all his contacts. Rob said maybe that’s what also happened to the schmuck.

Yeah, yeah. Expect it from men that they will defend each other until the very end regardless of the situation.

Haha, quite a sexist comment, eh?

Oh well, we girls stick together, too!

The MYX bar tour in Saguijo last night was a blast, as expected. Being with my girls, JokoCarlaMikiKassy and my cuz, Maffy was a sanity-saving experience. Except for the part when I needed badly to pee but I couldn’t because Miki was inside– desperately trying to figure out if her bangs was kulot. Vanity over bladder infection, san ka pa? Haha.

Stella Artois. Finally got to try it. It was heaven in a bottle. It is now my favorite beer and I will drink it each time I have money to burn. Ergo, I’ll have it twice in a blue moon. :p

Can’t remember who asked me if the food in Saguijo is any good. We ate pizza, sisig, and salpicao (?) and I have nothing but yumyumyum to say. 🙂 Ask Kassy if the chicken wings something something was delish. Didn’t get to taste it. Rhyme-master Kassy’s worked up an intense appetite last night. For more energy for taking pics!

Pics. I can’t upload anything yet because there are so many things and and people I have to crop. Like Kassy. Hahaha. Singit kasi nang singit. Camwhore, camwhore!!!! (Haha, joke lang Kas. Labshu!) I’d like to thank her anyway for braving the rakrakan crowd in front of the stage to take awesome pictures using Carla’s cam. Carla’s going to upload pics tom. Joko, tonight. So expect a post brimming with peechures tomorrow. *sinister laugh* Watch out for my pic with my recycled crush Tutti.

Tutti. Haha. Paano ko ba naging crush si Mr. Caringal? Kasi all my friends have band crushes tapos ako wala! So the first sexy slash attractive band boy I laid eyes on, yun na. Eh siya yun. Bow. Sexy? Yes naman. Hahaha.

Me introducing Tutti to Maffy last night:

Me: Tutti, this is my cousin Maffy.
Tutti: Hi!
Me: Maffy, this is Tutti, my crush.
Maffy: Haaaaaaaaa?
Me: HAHAHA.

Sexy and attractive people. Hmmm… I spotted a few last night. I wasn’t in my usual checking-cuties mode last night because I was too busy harrassing Lucas thru text. Lucas is my longlost friend slash neighbor who’s now a doctor. He donated 500 ml of blood yesterday to one of his patients so he couldn’t drink alcohol. No, I’m not exagerrating. He’s a saint just like that. Dr. Lucas Bersamin Jr, if you’re reading this– I miss you! Can’t wait to see you! Penge ng med cert! Bilis. Para makapagfile ako ng SL! Bwahahaha!

I digress. Ooops. :p

Balik sa kwento! Met coolerthantherestoferaserheads Raymund Marasigan of Sandwich. Found Mong Alcaraz too thin. Thought the new girl VJ was pretty but bland. Wondered what JC Cuadrado was doing there. Wowwed by Taken by Cars. Sober-but-acting-drunk texted several people. Tried to relate with new OPM releases.

Aaaaaannnndddd went gaga over Joko’s stories about the Stock Market seminar she attended before the gig. According to the speaker, Mr. Gaite, one should not display cross stitch pieces. It would only show how bakya one is.

I think I’m digressing again.

Weh. I didn’t get to finish the gig. Maf and I left with Chuck right after 6CM’s set. Didn’t get to see Chicosci anymore. Like I care. Didn’t get to see Spongecola either. Because they didn’t show up. Haha.

There’s still Saguijo’s 4th anniv to think about.

Check out the pics tomorrow. 🙂

Happy weekend, everyone!

Body Malaise and Eggciting Birthday

Body Malaise

I didn’t get to go to work yesterday because of body malaise. Yeah, well that’s what Dr. Lopez – De Leon wrote in the med cert I requested.

Body malaise, body malaise!!! Hangover lang ‘yon!

Had I known I’d be too enervated to go to work, I would have just finished Carla’s 27th Bday Salubong!

Belated happy birthday, CeeBee! I hope you had an eggcellent time!

Eggcellent Bday

I know how to spell excellent, you idiot. There’s just this tradition of Carla’s favorite Cebuano boys to egg down the celebrant, a tradition that they observe without fail.

“Aaawww… for me?” Feelingera mode. :p

Before the egging, we met up at TGIF Glorietta. Before the dinner, Joko, Kassy, and I went to Holland Tulips to get flowers. I suggested to just get leaves for her, because her favorite color is green daw. Joko, being the researcher that she is, argued it’s pink or blue or purple. Stargazers and peonies then! I still think that those were carnations branded as peonies as a ploy to overcharge us. :p

Back to Friday’s. No sharing of food. Ang sumuway, siya magbabayad ng bill! I guess it wasn’t applicable to the Cajun Pasta Kassy and I shared. The boys didn’t have any problems finishing their baby backribs though. Parang ‘di kumain ng 5 weeks! Note to self: learn how to create a more delightful version of Pepper Eater, the tequila-based drink I guzzled.

Monday night at TGIFriday’s with Junjie, Ruben, Fritz, Jovan, Nonoy, Mike, Carla, Joko, Kassy, Miki, Jeman (photog) and Jay (in spirit)

Miki, Mike, and I went to the bar to smoke and we missed the waiters’ birthday song for Carla! Well, who wants to hear Ulan anyway? I’d stay if they sang Can’t Let You Go, though! :p

The Embassy afterdinner plan was abolished (hurrah!!!) and we headed to Off The Grill for the drinking sesh. (Needless to say, I missed Richard to a point of drunk-calling him.) After buckets of Red Horse and platters of oysters, we became borderline rowdy, singinglaughingdancing the night away. The boys impromptu-jammed and sang I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing for CeeBee. Yes and that was after they egged Carla big time.

With my girls Joko, Bday Girl Carla, and Miki

Special thanks to Superman Ruben for bringing pamalit clothes for the birthday girl!

Sorry to Jovan and Kassy for being the H. Joko was the M. Put us together we were MH, as in Malaking Hadlang. Sorry again, budding lovers! Wehehe!

To Mikiboo, by the time Carla turns 28, you’d have 417641564463 piercings. Carry on. :p

Do the Japanese! Off The Grill – Timog

To the rest of the boys, especially, Kung Fu Panda Drummer Mike, mga walangya kayo. Bad influence! Sabi nang may pasok pa ako kinabukasan eh! Next time talaga, magyayakult na lang ako!!!

And of course, to Carla Bianca, may you never charge us for your awesomeness and attractiveness. We love you sooo much!

Birthday Girl Carla 🙂

Definitely worth the body malaise.

:p

Sorta Kinda Updates

As expected, the only common denominator of the past few days is stress. Stress in truckloads! Stress from Aaron fighting for his young life at St. Luke’s. Stress from my parents’ moving to Bataan (oh, the separation axiety)! Stress from people trying to pull me down into their 5-mile diameter shithole. Stress from not being able to reach my self-imposed quota of qualified applicants.

And… stress from not being able to watch Kung Fu Panda last night. =`(

Oh, the stress of being Iya Santos! =p

Haha, but enough with the dramz. The dramaqueen biz is getting old!

Speaking of old (hehe), Besty Jap, who just celebrated her 40th 30th birthday last week, is forcing me to join them in Saguijo on the 27th. I guess this is what I get from asking her to break away from her work-bahay-work-bahay-buy makeup-work-bahay-work-bahay way of living. It’s been soooo long since I last went to a gig. I’m not sure if I’d still be able to take the rakrakan noise of Greyhoundz and the other bands.

Jap’s 30th Bday Salubong * 052708

Hmm… perhaps I should test the waters by going with Joko, Carla, and Miki to 70’s Bistro on the 23rd. I’m not really psyched to see 6CM play, but I do miss the supersteady feel of 70’s.

Anyhoodles, even if I don’t get to see my girls in the 6CM gig, I’ll get to be with them this Monday. It’s Carla’s birthday salubong! She’s turning 27! I’m sure it’ll be a blast, like it always is whenever we get together.

Oh, oh, oh… birthdays! One of my dearest friends, Inez, celebrated her 22nd birthday last June 5. I know she’s been too busy-busyhan ever since she got promoted to QA, too busy to read my blog, but I’ll greet her anyway…

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY INEZ ANDREA GOMEZ!

Happy Me and Smiley Inez * Jay-Jay’s 2006

I miss Inez so  much that I wanna go to UP tomorrow so we can attend mass and eat at Chocolate Kiss together. Gaaahd, I miss being able to meet up with friends in a heartbeat!

Well, I did meet up with ate Dons for dinner and coffee a few nights ago, but it’s so easy to see her In Ortigas now that I’m staying in Manda.

Hmmm… maybe I should text her and ask her to watch Kung Fu Panda with me.

Another oh, oh oh!!! I finally got to watch Step Up 2 last night. Thanks RJ for the debede! Hu-waw!!!

Channing Tatum *droools* Robert Hoffman *droools* Briana Evigan *drrrrrrrrrrooooooooools*

Hu-wat? Hahaha! I’m out!

Über Pahabol Birthday Pics

Second cousin Miki asked if she could still post (waaaay) overdue pics from my 26th birthday.

I naturally said yes. With a pahabol, “Even if it’s going to make me cry.”

Haha, as if. It’s been what? Four months! i’m done ranting about it. Memories have been filtered. I only think of the good stuff now.

Like beer, friends, and hotdogs.  :-p
