Oishi: Nothing Short of O,Wow!

When my friend invited me to attend Oishi‘s new campaign launch, I said YES without asking for further details. My 3 reasons:

1. I’ve loved Oishi since I was a cute (walang papalag) little girl. I remember Oishi Prawn Crackers being my snack of choice whenever my parents and I would watch movies– in Betamax. So now you know how old I am and how long Oishi has been around. 🙂

2. Oishi is one of the loyal partners in our company events. I have seen thousands of our employees and applicants happy because of Smart C, Fiber & Fruit, and Gourmet Picks potato chips. My favorites among these are the Grapefruit Smart C and Natural Sea Salt chips– my current moviesnack of choice. :p tsaka Pillows rin pala.

3. I wanted to know who’s the mystery endorser of their O,Wow! campaign. I read in Twitter that it’s gonna be the Elmo Magalona but I wanted to be there to be sure. Mwehehe!

So last Saturday afternoon, with my friend Homer, I went to Trinoma for the launch of Oishi’s O,Wow! Campaign.

The event was hosted by VJ Andrei Felix and sportscaster Rizza Diaz. The audience was treated to fun and games including the saksakan ng bago na Bring Me! :))

There were 3 humongous boxes at the center of the Activity Area that held the special guests of Oishi. They were cloaked in red when they entered. I knew Elmo was there somewhere. My guess was his onscreen sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose couldn’t be far behind. But who’re the boys that entered the 3rd box? Anong banda sila? Kasing yummy ba sila ng Oishi? Hmmmm…

After loads of potato chips and screaming of O,Wow!’s… the surprise guests were unveiled. Elmo Magalona, check! Julie San Jose, check! Aaaaaannnnddddd… Callalily! So I was right about the yummy part! Kean Cipriano, double check! :))

Oishi gave us a high-energy concert experience. Julie performed several hits including the gasgas na but still fun to listen to, Super Bass. Callalily performed their songs and I was happy to hear Stars again. It transported me back to the time Kean looked so boyish at ‘di makabasag pinggan. Hahaha! Of course, Elmo sang a mix of covers and originals. The crowd (well, mostly teen girls) went gaga when he danced to Teach Me How to Dougie. I was impressed when he sang 3 Stars and The Son. You will be too. You can download the single for free here.

I looked around and saw Miss Pia Magalona with a big smile, looking oh-so proud of her son. Well who wouldn’t be? Elmo is a talented kid that is a fantastic endorser of an equally fantastic brand. His fun and adventurous vibe and Oishi’s variety of delicious and affordable snacks are nothing short of O,WOW!

image

You can also give yourself an O,Wow! experience by treating yourself to Oishi snacks like– Wafu (gosh, I love these leche flan/cheese wafer sticks), Gourmet Picks (potato chips cooked in sunflower oil), Marty’s (veggie chicharon), or Porky Pops (baked not fried lean pork rind).

Beat the summer heat by drinking the refreshing Smart C. It comes in 3 flavors: lemon, orange, and pomelo-grapefruit. You can also choose the healthier alternative Fiber & Fruit. Here’s yours truly holding a bottle of apple-flavored F&F. There’s also peach and grape but this one’s my fave. This was taken in Market! Market!, in one of our job fairs. I grabbed one before thirsty applicants finish all of ’em. :p

Ang Masasabi Ko Tungkol sa Ang Babae sa Septic Tank

“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank chronicles a day in the life of three ambitious, passionate but misguided filmmakers as they set out to do a quick pre-prod at Starbucks, a courtesy call to their lead actress, Eugene Domingo, and an ocular inspection of their film’s major location, the Payatas dumpsite. Director Rainier, Producer Bingbong and Production Assistant Jocelyn are well-to-do, well-educated film school graduates who are dead set on making an Oscar worthy film.” Read entire synopsis here.

Good job.

2. Hello?! Title pa lang, palong-palo na.

Seriously, WTF? Itigil na ‘yan.

3. Eugene Domingo. Miss Eugene Domingo. THE Miss Eugene Domingo.

O diba! So old school! Confident ako na maraming mag-a-agree sa akin na matagal na niyang na-dethrone sa pagiging Comedy Queen si Miss Ai Ai Delas Alas. favorite ko pa rin si Ai Ai, I just think Eugene is 10x better.

4. Kean Cipriano

I remember, some time 2006, nasa Starbucks kami while waiting for our friends from another band na ka-label nila. I was talking to him and he kept on saying “po”. He smiled that super cute boyish smile and said, “Ok, hindi na ako magsasabi ng po. Awwww, the baby is now… not a baby. Hehe.

Diosmeh. Lalo na doon sa 3 Types of Acting. Achieve talaga yung TV Patrol acting. I thought, kung sa narration pa nga lang ng ibang tao, tawang-tawa na ako, what more kung ako mismo ang makapanood, tama? Tama.

So ‘yun nga. Start to finish, absolute perfection. :p

Cai Cortez as the PA, Kean Cipriano as Direk Rainier and JM De GUzman as Bingbong the Producer

Ang buong cast ay perfect. Almost perfect.

This film has taste regardless of the septic tank. Shet na istoryang ‘yan. Ang bangis talaga. Wow. WOOOOOOWWWW!!! More powers to the cast and crew!

Daisy, Kean, Lolit, Mcoy

While everyone’s still blogging about the Glorietta 2 bombing, here I am choosing to keep things light.

Lemme talk about the Quantum Physics and its connection with the Austrian economy. Light, di’ba?

Uluuuuuul. Haha.

Aryt, lemme talk about showbiz, as inspired by The Buzz.

Daisy Romualdez is accusing Callalily vocalist, Kean Cipriano of hiding her adopted daughter, Danita.

kean1.jpg

kean21.jpg

Naman. Look at that face. Is that the face of a criminal? Damn you. Look at him. Not me.

Even if he’s guilty, wouldn’t you want that rocker boy to abduct you? Haha.

I’m just playing. I don’t like Kean in that way. I’ve met the guy, hung out with him and his band. I personally think he’s a bit weird, but nice and well-mannered nonetheless.

Danita… I don’t have an opinion about her. She’s… blah.

Daisy Romualdez. Hmmm… Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. If I had a mother like her, maglalayas rin ako. She’s an even bigger virago than Annabelle Rama. Good thing about the latter is that her hubby and kids seem to actually love her. The former? Pattern, anyone?

Gah. I’m way too harsh.

So, here’s me being nice.

Lolit Solis, please stop spreading malicious rumors about Papa Piolo and Papa Sam. I know that you miss Gabby Concepcion, swapping envelopes and creating filmfest scams that’s why you’re constatnly amusing yourself with showbiz b.s. but please, talk shit about your Kapuso’s instead.

Plus, you’re hurting Jovi. Kaya, Manay, shut the fuck up.

Here, I’ll be nice na talaga.

We’ve had a little bit of tampuhan, but from the very bottom of my heart, somewhere in my inferior vena cava or septum… I would like to wish Marco Fundales goodluck! May he have a kickass time inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.

Go, go, go, Mcoy! Mabuhay tayong mga virgins! 😛 I-kiss mo ako kay Will De Vaughn! Innocent kiss na may tongue!
