Celebrating Arteries of Steel

I tried to kill myself by clogging my arteries…

AND FAILED!!!

I conquered the KFC Double Down and Pizza Hut Lechon Pizza in one day! Yeaaaaaahhhhh! I know this is just an exaggeration, so you should know this, too. Anyway, it’s still time to…

CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the Pizza Hut Bloggers’ Event, Enzo and I went to Lime 88. It’s his first time to my favorite hole in the wall and I suggested all the delish dishes and he opted to get something I did not suggest. LOL.

He had the Tinapa and Sundried Tomato Pasta

and I got the Asian Nachos (wanton wraps with Thai salsa).

I don’t like tinapa with rice but tinapa with pasta is fantastic! The nachos was crisp, the salsa was tangy and wooohoo for the generous beefy toppings! Hey hey hey I wasn’t hungry but I don’t like drinking alcohol without something I can munch on.

My 1st poison of choice– Brown Sugar Daddy. Eyes on the foreground, please. Hahaha!

My 2nd– Tiramisu Martini! Both of the cocktails were great, but the Chocnut Martini is still my favorite!

Cheers to good food, good health, and good life!

HAPPY TIMES!

The title is in reference to @JCPerlas’ tweet to me after I said Yay me! I’m still alive after eating the Double Down and Lechon Pizza. ๐Ÿ˜€

Chocnut Martini + Deep Fried Coke

Joko won 1st place in the Wahine Surf Competition so we had our celebratory dinner at Lime 88. Yes, again. I did say I’m going to eat their Osso Bucco-style Kare-Kare and drink their Chocnut Martini, right?

Because it’s Joko,Kassy and Kwe’s first time there, I suggested the dishes Jap, Donnie, Eunice and I had the last time. So, we also had Deep-fried California Maki, Stir Fry Pork Belly and Sizzling Dinakdakan. Because mas matakaw itong grupo namin nila Joko, we also had…

Pork with Silken Tofu (wala pa yatang 10 seconds, naubos na namin)

Osso Bucco Style Kare-Kare (‘Eto rin, wala pang 1 minute, ubos na!)

Crispy Dinuguan (Hindi ito agad naubos kasi busog na kami! :p)

Very happy and very busog! (That’s me with my Chocnut Martini!)

I love you.

Too bad Lime 88 ran out of dessert. We had to go to Wingman at The Collective to have our sweet-fix. We had the Deep Fried Snickers again and tried the Deep Fried Coca-Cola.

It’s actually funnel cake with Coca-Cola syrup! Yummy! Liked this better than the Snickers. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Superfriends @ Lime 88

After eating and camwhoring at The Collective, we went to Lime 88. It’s a lola’s house turned resto that offers street food na pinasosyal.

I told myself I was gonna have their Kare Kare Osso Bucco, but I was still full from Wabi-Sabi, so I chose a “lighter” meal. Had the Kesong Puti and Kangkong Stuffed Chicken Breast with Mashed Potato.

I give this 4 out of 5 stars. The cheese was just the right amount that I still tasted the chicken. Sarap ng chicken and perfect ng gravy! Really went well with the mashed potato. I wish there were more kangkong stuffing though! ๐Ÿ™‚

Also had the Sossy Scramble.

Also 4 out of 5 stars. Sosyal version of the street classic right here, but I still prefer the ones in the kalye. I guessn I likeย it dirty. Hehe!

Jap had the Deep Fried California Maki.

5 out of 5 for the maki, perfect crunch without being oily. I wonder what mango they used. Sarap eh! The dipping sauce was 2 out of 5 though. pero so what, di’ba? :p

Piggy Donnie decided to eat his cousin…. Pork Belly Stir Fry

4.5 stars according to them, I didn’t get to fully taste this because I was limiting my intake of red meat.

But I couldn’t resist what Eunice ordered. Sizzling Dinakdakan!

I give this 5 out of 5 stars plus the entire Milky-Way! Grabe! Ang sarap! So sinful! Calling @juantavinz124. Ano bang meron dito? Liempo? Pagmamahal? Dasal? Winner! Super kudos to the chef!

And for dessert, we had the Jackfruit Walnut Torte!

We all loved this, because we all love dessert but we don’t like supersweet stuff! The langka was subtle and there were lots of walnuts! Amazing torte for only 90php! 5 out of 5!

Spent the rest of the night drinking, chatting and listening to music. They played Mike Francis to Lady Gaga which was fantastic in my book!

That’s Eunice and Donnie trying out Manila Beer (taste in between Super Dry and SML) and Jap trying out… errrrmmm… a stalk of green onion. Yea. She’s weird.

with Lime 88’s very own, Vince Juanta! Cheers to great food and Twitter! Hehe!

Foodies, if you’re looking for a place where you can chill and eat loads of comfort food cooked with a twist, go to Lime. Your wallet will not hate you and your tummy will absolutely love you! Tara, samahan niyo ako bumalik. I still have to try their Osso Bucco Kare Kare and Chocnut Martini!
