Fontana Weekend

Spent Kassy‘s birthday in Fontana.

Chill na chill. As in rest and relaxation at umuulan-ulan kaya nangatog ako ng very light. Hehe!

This was our villa, our home for 2 days and 2 nights.

With Rich in the Chinese convenience store na hindi convenient for me, kasi di ako nakakaintindi ng chingchangsu language. In ferla, ang sarap nung noodle na nabili namin dito. Albeit maanghang, na-enjoy ko. Sarap kapartner nung birthday chocolate cake ni Kas.

With Miki at the lobby. Kami ang pinaka-sporty sa group… NOT.

With the girls + the carriage. Sorry, hindi nakita ang fez ni horsey.

Sa golf cart na dinrive ni Miki. (Don’t tell the Fontana people!)

Posing with the gay Fontana dinosaurs.

Brunch Buffet! FTW! Ito ang salarin bakit nag-gain ako ng 5lbs sa loob ng isang weekend. #fail

At the spa locker room. Every mirror moment is a photo opportunity.

Pumo-posing sa gallery. Sa mundo ko, kamukha ni Tuesday Vargas/Nida Blanca yung babae sa likod ko.

Wala ako sa China.

Ang effort ko sa pagpo-poi. Weeeeeee!!!

Since we were just in Clark, we also went to Zambales to surf. Ay, sila lang pala. Kami ni Miki, nagpicture-picture lang.

The wasted and the wasteland.

Dinner at Cantina Mexicana before heading back to Fontana

When we got back to the house, nag-inuman sila ng vodka at nagkainan ng noodles and cake. Nasaan ako? Tulog. Nung humabol ako, paubos na ang alkohol at lapz. So mahaba-habang chikahan na lang tungkol sa boys.

May chairs naman, pero pinagpilitan naming umupo sa kitchen counter ni Joko.

Posing with our poging ride before hitting the water park.

dahil pinataba ako ng weekend na ito. Hindi na ako sexy kaya, pa-macho shot before going back to Manila.

Belated happy birthday, Kas!

1. The title of this entry is a very rough Latin translation of Red Cross.
2. It’s an inside joke.
3. It’s also the title of an album in Facebook that contains photos from one of the most fun weekends I’ve ever spent with my girls. =)

Last Saturday, we visited Baby Awesome/Baby Panda/Caitlin Mikayla.

Look how absolutely cute our goddaughter is

and how totally pa-cute I was to her :p

Then we went to Cafe Juanita in Kapitolyo because Joko promised me yummy adobo. Hahaha.

The food deserves a separate entry. And a stellar review! =)

But fine… here’s a preview…

Cafe Juanita’s Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream!

After one of the best meals I’ve ever had, we went to Starbucks Glorietta (yep, had greentea frappe again) and watched Here Comes The Bride.

We had lots of laugh from the movie. Kudos to the cast, especially to Angelica Panganiban. Achieve na achieve! We were shiny, happy people until Carla’s BB got stolen. Gaaaah.

Tambay at A-Venue Suites after. After a bit of dramarama, we camwhored. We are that resilient. Nyaha!

We love Joko’s pad! Check out the view!

We watched a couple of Big Bang Theory episodes and when Carla went home, the rest of us went to Burger Avenue before going to CJ’s birthday party.

We love CJ because there’s always unlimited booze in his house. And unlimited people we don’t know but still have conversations with! :p

There was even longboarding. Shempre, ako ang taga-picture.

We went home 5ish and watched this Sean Faris movie before we went to dreamland.

When we woke up, we ordered lots of food from Rufo’s and and watched the Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Both of which I loved. :p

But not as much as I love my girls!

Baptism, Mojos, Holmes and Burgers

After 36++ hours of being sick and paranoid, I was rewarded with a fantastic Sunday with the girlfriends.

We first went to St Andrew the Apostle Parish in Bel-Air for Caitlin’s baptism. Finally got to see my inaanak. I’m still afraid to hold her because she looks so tiny and fragile that I might accidentally crush her.

Mike, Carla, Caitlin and the ninangs 🙂

Shakey’s jupiter for the reception where the anacondas in my tummy writhed in delight (pakk, parang nakakatakot yun ha hehe) because of the mojos, pizza, pasta and chicken. I just had a hard time resisting drinking Coke. I couldn’t drink anything cold now because of my laryngitis. Hence, smoking is also a no-no now. Anyhooz, instead of smoking, I just laughed and clapped (by shaking my hands like an idiot, kasi wala ako voice) from the tons of jokes over merienda.

(= Kwe . Miki . Kassy . Joko . Iya . Carla =)

This really cracked me up:

Joko: Ako si Miley Cyrus. Si Iya si–
Me: Taylor Swift
Joko: Ikaw LL, sino ka? Demi Lovato?
Carla: Ayoko dun!!!
Joko: Ok, do you want to be Vanessa Hudgens or Ashley Tisdale?
Carla: Vanessa Hudgens!
Me: Errr… in ferla, sa kanya si Zac Efron.
Joko: Ikaw Kassy sino ka?
Kassy: Selena Gomez.
Miki: How about me?
Joko: You can be Camilla Belle?
Carla and Me: Potah. Sino yun?
Joko: *googles* Here she is o. Maganda ‘yan!
Miki: Yeah she is! Ok, I’ll be Camilla Belle.
Kwe: *jumps up and down* How about me??? Sino ako???
Joko: Ikaw si Erich.
Kwe: Huh? Sino ‘yun?
Joko: Erich Gonzales ng Katorse.

Lol. We love you, baby bunny Kwe! Even if sobrang alaskado ka na naman kahapon especially about your alias Florahbhel. :p

Entertainment continued at R.O.X. where we looked for surfboards. Correction, Kassy and Joko checked our boards, Kwe played with the indoboard and nonsporty chicks Miki and moi sniffed at least 10 kinds of soaps and body butter. Banana milk, anyone?

After which, we went to see Holmes. The movie’s absolutely terrific! Gusto ko ulit panoorin! Hell, I’d even wait and buy an original dvd! Blueray!!! I love Ironman! I love Alfie! And errrr… I love girlfromTheNotebook, Rachel McAdams :p She is my girlcrush. Only, she’s not blonde in this film. Oh well, lovelove her role as Adler. Can’t wait to see the sequel! 🙂

newest addition to my favorite movies

Last stop, Brother’s Burger. God, I love burgers. And large fries. And insane friends. And not smoking not only because I’m sick.  And not throwing a fit if I can’t drink Coke.

Oooh, and I love this photo of me by Miki. She’s awesome. Like me. Hehe.

Kung si Kwe, Katorse... Ako, Bente-Ocho.

See? Happy Sunday! I’m still sick but with all the happyvibes I got from yesterday, I can manage. 🙂

Pre-Birthday Surprise!

After a 3-day job fair, my original plan was to head straight home and re-watch my favorite episodes of Glee for more Puck happy moments, but when Joko said the CHILI’S and DINNER I knew I just had to change plans.

Good thing I did because…

I had my very first 28th birthday blowing of candle. Miki said she wouldn’t be here for my celeb, because she’s going to Thailand next week, hence the surprise! surprise!

I don’t get tired saying how much I love my girls. Too bad Carla and Kwe weren’t able to make it last night, though.

Miki invited her nff Justin (profile: Atenean, Finance student, full China, vacay-ing from Sydney). When I asked him what animal represents him and he said rabbit, I stretched my arms and exclaimed, “My son!” LOL.

We made fun of so many things like Math, killer Christmas trees, mongrels and these reindeers, They look high, don’t they?

That’s Kassy hanging Christmas balls for charity. I’m officially beginning to feel the holidays. 🙂

Last night made me very happy. 🙂

And an awesomefantasticexcellent news this afternoon made me so much happier.

Stay tuned.

Cebu 2k9

My first intention was to flood my trip to Cebu entry with photos, but I figured most of the people that care about it can see the pics in my Facebook and (soon) in my Multiply anyway.

With that, let me just share the most significant moments in the Queen City of The South immortalized in digiphotos. Three per day!

Day 1 / August 6 / Thursday

DSC09451

I experienced my very first plane ride. I shit you not. Yaaay! Loved it– especially the take off– except the pain in my ears! Props to Joko for being by my side even if she placed me nearest the emergency exit. Hence, the prayer “Dear God, please help me because I need to help others as well. Amen.”

DSC09494

Day 1 was historical pasyal day. Places visited: Magellan Shrine, Lapu-Lapu Shrine, Magellan’s Cross, Fort Santiago, Basilica Minore de Santo Niño etc etc. I’m sharing this pic from Alegre Guitars just because I think it’s o for owww-some! Thanks to Mikiboo and her owww-some skills and cam!

DSC09653

My trip would not be complete without a gimik night! Went to Vudu (as recommended by at least 5 people from my FB contacts). It was Band Night. Pandora was great. Kickass vocalist (ex-vox of Cueshe). Yaaaay for Mr. Brightside and Katy Perry songs! Another small world incident. Met three guys from the south. Not south as in Cebu– ALABANG. Sphere of existence. Hello TJ, Paco and Gelo!

Day 2 / August 7 / Friday

DSC09689

Despite my six-hour sleep, I woke up at 10ish for my first Casa Escano breakfast. Daing na bangus, fried egg, garlic rice, achara, sikwate, banana-walnut waffle, cinnamon french toast and hash browns. Sino ba naman ang hindi gigising para d’yan?

DSC09696

I went back to bed after my big breakfast and woke up at around 5pm to go to Waterfront. For what? Dinner! Say what? Oo, na. Dinner. Gumigising lang ako para kumain. I was that sleepy and I am this takaw. Yum-yum-yummy dinner c/o Kasuy who celebrated her 25th birthday with lots of red meat, good friends and dozens of pictures.

DSC09719

Margaritas before going to bed! When we wake up, we will be wearing dresses the same color as our margaritas… So excited for Carla and Mike… 🙂

Day 3 / August 8 / Saturday

DSC09748

Daddy Panda and Mommy Panda are now officially Mr. and Mrs. Manaloto! Their wedding’s the most beautiful I’ve ever gone to. Love was all around. I felt it in my fingers and I felt it in my tores. LOL. I would like to have that kind of wedding someday. Someday, like tomorrow.

DSC09814

Vistamar with 1/3 of the entourage in the afternoon. Surreal looking at Carla and Mike knowing they’re already husband and wife. Nakanang…. ang galing! *apir pandas!* Anyhoots, one good reason to go back to Cebu: beachbumming!!! We were too tired and too late to enjoy Mactan. We lounged by the pool instead…

vista

and ate a lot! Wooooot for the 50% off! Yaaaaayyyy sinigang and chicken chicharon and eggplant-mango salad! And free ice cream c/o Kassy’s sugod-kusina moment. Hahaha. Fun times with great friends and great food.

Day 4 / August 9 / Sunday

taboan

Joks and I woke up early to have breakfast (huhuhuhu last Escano breakfast) and to go to Tabo-an. Wheee! Danggit! Longanisa! Dried Pusit! Otaaaaaapppp! Amoy danggit pa rin ako pagbalik namin sa Casa Escano. Good thing we listened to the Cebuanos not to take a bath before going there. :p

taoist

Lunch @ Mike’s (we love Casa Manaloto!!!) then Taoist Temple at Beverly Hills before going to Crown Regency for the Skywalk and Edge Coaster. Nope, I didn’t brave the heights. Pwede ba, sa elevator pa nga lang, I was freaking out na. Hehe.

cebu

Had dinner at Mike’s after the thrill of heights. Nasabi ko na ba na we love Casa Manaloto? Hehe. After a fast and furious dinner, we headed to the airport and bid Cebu farewell. Sorry hindi ko natutuhan what’s bye-bye in Cebuano. No worries, aalamin ko ‘yan when I go back.

I am most def going back to Cebu!

Hoy Lechon, magtutuos pa tayo uli!!!

So I’ve been told that I’m in the latest ish of Playboy Phils.

Not as a bunny, you idiot. I need to triple, maybe even quadruple my chest size to become one. Anywaaaaayyy… it’s because Joko, Kas, Carlo and I went to their wine and cheese party in Barcino last February. I don’t have a copy of their latest issue yet (slash 2nd anniv ish,) but I do hope I look fine – if not fantastic – in the glossies.

I’ll settle for these photos:

Mikiboo is now one of the deejays of NU 107. She’s in this radio prog called Ballad of The Times. It was her 2nd time to dj there last Thursday night and it was a joy to listen to her. You go, my little bighalfbrit star!!! I’m mighty proud of you! Today, dj-ing! Tomorrow, vj-ing! Woooot!

Miki, if you’re reading this, can I request Paris is Burning by Lady Hawk? :p

Ejay and his co-instructors were featured last night in Jessica Soho’s prog. It was a summer epi and it had a segment about surfing without going faaaaaaar awaaaay from the metro. Hence, they showed Surf Coach Eej in action. =)

Dindin Slash Retreat

tiananmen

Had an impromptu dinner cum retreat last Monda with Joko, Carla, Kwe, Miki, Lucky (Joko’s baby squirrel) and Pandy (Carla’s baby panda) last Monday night in Tiananmen. We learned a great deal about each other like:

* It will take a nuclear bomb to shake Carla. And if she were food, she’d be Lechon Cebu.
* Kwe needs to know what helicopter is. She also needs to convince her parents not to make her Operations Manager yet.
* Miki is the only non-late bloomer amongst us. And she’s quite extreme when it comes to leaping.
* Joko’s not only maalaga- she’s motherly. She’s made herself adventurous but she’s still working on taking risks where it counts.
* And I… well, I really am a bitch (na nasa lugar daw) who doesn’t know if she wants to be in a relationship.

I loved my first ever Introspective Q&A with the go-go girls. I can’t wait for the next one. I already have harder, more exciting questions prepared. Some involve pairing. Some involve a bit of math and geography. Ang panalo, di’ba? Haha, prolly not the math part. But I’m sure kaya ni LLB Carla yon. Gusto nga daw niya magturo ng Accounting eh!

Anyhoodles, another highlight of the dindin/retreat was the call-the-boys part. May usapang chocolates, LU, paggawa ng baby, and pinili na ang anniv sa 15 para sweldo! Me thinks them boys should be present the next round of Introspective Q&A. That should be interesting. =) Hopefully in LU as soon as Carla returns from her training in Vietnam.  If not LU, Tiananmen is still ok. I want more of their lumpia with sesame seeds and lechon sisig and lemon chicken…. what? I need nutrients to answer the questions! :p

From Isaw&Beer to Wine&Prawns w/ The Go-Go Friends

Maybe it was the weekend of just sleeping and surfing the net in Bataan that propelled me to look for a Tuesday night g. Maybe it’s because I woke up wanting to see my friends so that I can read their fortune through my brand new tarot deck. Maybe it’s to help Joko satisfy her cravings for isaw and chicken liver. Or maybe it’s because an inexplicable and unstoppable force of nature just told me not to go home yet and enjoy like a common college kid who can just give tomorrow a dirty finger and give in to the temptations of a starry January night. Whatever the cause was, I’m glad I went out last night. The skull-splitting pain I’m feeling now is nothing. I am still in my happy place. 🙂

cimg3928

After work, I went to Robinson’s Pioneer to meet up with Joko, Jessie, and Carlo. After helping Joko to get red stuff for Jake (her new car), we set out to look for a place with siomai (Jeman likes), isaw (Joko likes), smoking area (Carlo and Iya like). Perfect Place = Central BBQ Grill! It’s just semi-sorta behind Pioneer, prolly 10 longjumps and 3 cartwheels away. Haha, some servers recognized me from the BF Pque branch.

A quick convo of me and James, the former headwaiter of Central/Tides BF…

James: Ma’am Iya, hanggang dito nakakarating kayo ha!
Me: Eh kasi I live in Mandaluyong na!
James: Kayo pa rin po nung bf n’yo?
Me: Weh. Sino?
James: Yung ‘nung nagbirthday po kayo sa Tides na ka-kiss n’yo…
Me: Weh! Kuya, kakain pa lang ako! Ayoko mawalan ng gana! Jupakan ko ‘yun eh!

Haha, I was driven to disgust for a few seconds by the inconvenient memory, but I wanted the night to be all good vibes, so I just let it go. Better vibes when the siomai, isaw, hotdogs, sisig, SML and bottled coke arrived! Woohoo! I miss the South, good thing there’s already a Central in Manda!

—–

Have I told you lately that I lovelovelove my go-go friends?

Go-go friends: Joko, Jessie, Carlo, and Miki (there are others still, like Carla, but they have little or no relevance to this entry, hehe but I still love you guys)

I love them because they are always on the go and it’s very easy for them to say yes to social invites. In other words, mga kaladkarin sila. Love it!

Uhhhh… what’s kaladkarin in English? :p

—–

Fun times with Jake going to Fort. My top three picks:

1 Singing Get Far’s Shining Star off-key with incorrect (?) lyrics

“You’re my soulmate, my summer and my faith… your kisses are better than wiiiiiine… there’s nothing I want more than you girl…”

2 Boobs. Fake boobs. Big boobs. boobs. No boobs. Man boobs.

Ahmmm… I don’t want to stand next to Joko! You! You just stare at my legs! Haha!

3 Twisted pity sex concept

“I pity you for having sex with me! I piiiiiiiiiiiiittttyyy yoooooooooooooouuuu! You are very pitifuuuuuuuuuuuullllll!”

—-

Pictures ahead. Keep on reading. :p

go-go friends * bacon-wrapped prawns

cimg3868 cimg3896

penafiel and sergi * pretty ladies 😉

Congratulations to us, we did not get lost going to Barcino. No sense of doom, no driving in circles, no TJ Trinidad to ask for directions… Ay, sayang pala! Hehe.

From isaw, hotdogs, and beer… we moved to chicken livers (in sherry naman), prawns wrapped in bacon, and wine. Another thing I love about my go-go friends is that they are so flexible. (Guys, next time let’s have a balut-foie gras night! Hehe!)

Half-brit, second cousin Miki arrived fresh from work (work ba talaga, haha) and she’s not the only mixbreed in the table. I just found out that Joko is not part-Indian but part-Latina! Oh wow! Shake that J-Lo ass! :p

Sergi made a cameo before he went out with his buddies (mga kabatak na dayuhan) and explained (or was forced to explain for the sake of photo-opp) what Peñafiel is. Also saw Virginia before she left for 101 and I invited her to go to Emba with Sergi, Oryx and moi for the Year of the Ox Party. Yaaaay, another thing to look forward to!

cimg3888 cimg3925

tarot reading * checking out a pretty bottle

I read Carlo’s fortune in Central and it was Joko’s and Miki’s time to shine in Barcino. (Jeman was busy enjoying the free wi-fi.) So okay, according to them, I am pretty freaky. Fretty preaky. Whichever. As for me, I’m still thinking if I should check for updates about what was told 7 years ago. About my S/LR or RL/S or L/SR life-altering person. Weh, I’m not really into freaking myself out via tarot. For all I know, fate is just telling me to get a new camera. SLR pala ha.

Speaking of cam, last night’s pics are mostly in my Multiply. I’m sure there will be more pics to come since Joko and I are thinking a Barcino get-together should at least be a once in a month affair.

We found our happy place. *insert Kings of Leon’s Your Sex is On Fire*

🙂

I’m happy and-yet-but-albeit my head still aches like whoa. I think I may even have fever now, oh well, nothing a quick drink can’t fix.
