crazier than usual, or just plain bored to a point of convulsing

Of Cubao-X, Cheap Margarita, Jabbawockeez, Eggs, Neon Pink Dragonflies and The Ideal Man

The word hectic was redefined last week as penge-ng-blade-maglalaslas-na-lang-ako. Thank G it’s already over. And thank God there were more fantastic experiences than the shitty ones!

I got to hang out with Joko and Van in the office, because I invited them to our special company event.

Joko and I went to Cubao-X to get a bag for her surfboard (Britney) but we didn’t get to eat/drink at Mogwai’s because it was jampacked. Bleh. Didn’t get to go to Central BBQ Makati either, because CJ said something about a kilometric queue.

Got to try the cafe in front of Saguijo. Guiza. real good cheap blue margarita. Only 70php. Their sisig’s pretty good, too. It’s the liver. Hmmmm… :) Ang sagwa ng combination ko, but oh well! :p

Saturday! Our team went to McKinley for Musicfest 2010. I was lucky enough to join my bosses in the meet and greet with JabbaWockeeZ. And bless the company I work for for being a major sponsor. VIP, baby!

Yaaaay for afterconcert lamon at Andok’s c/o Boss V. Litson manok + sinigang = makasalanang midnight snack pero dedz na.

I didn’t set my alarm but I woke up just in time to join my friends for the Tagaytay trip.

First stop, Heaven & Eggs Glorietta. Brunch c/o Joko. Her first lagay so that Carla and I won’t get the BuzzZZzzZZZzzzz when she starts talking about her crushie. errr… her LIKEY pala.

Finally got to go to Banio Kreek Farms. Ang ganda ganda ganda ganda ganda!!!!!!!!!! I must have done something right kaya dinala na ako ng universe doon! Yay! Miki and I went down to the stream (fine, creek pala) and I saw dragonflies with bluegreen and neonpink bodies. I also saw a cat with eyes of different colors, left’s green… right’s blue. Nope, I wasn’t high when I saw those! :`(

Carlo’s Pizza Mile-Hi after for ze alcohol fix. their nacho supreme is now my ultimate favorite nachos! Thanks, Benjie for the discount!

So Carla, Joko, Kassy, Miki and I (Kwe supot! Wala! No Show!) had a mini-retreat again. Harhar. I semisorta can’t believe that they think A___, or at least, the likes of him is the ideal guy for me. Why did I let him slip away? :p

Well, I also let the neonpink dragonfly slip away…

Ponder that.

Pictures to follow. Watch out for my attempt to pull-off a modern day Snow white. My dwarves are Prancer, Vixen, Dopey, Sleepy, Slutty, Bitchy and Horny.

LOL.

I promise, I swear I wasn’t high when I saw those!!! Disregard the tell tale signs! LOL.

The Best Buffalo Wings

After months of invites from my former classmate Perry, I finally got to go to Bugsy’s 2 nights ago. Fabulous way to start February! We had to endure 30 mins of  going around Makati first, because noone of us knew where it is. :p I remember a hungry, irate Joko screaming, “Their food better be worth it!!#$@#!!!!”

The verdict? The reviews are correct. Bugsy’s has excellent buffalo wings! Chef Joko said it’s because of the butter! Their country fried steak, chicken caesar salad, southern fried pork chops, all American bacon burger and chocolate almond cookie with ice cream were all scrumptious, too. Thumbs up to the drinks, as well. But then again, only an idiot can fuck up vodka-Sprite and rum-Coke. Must go back to try the drink Bugsy’s Delight and the steak (?) The Godfather. Hmmm… fun and foreboding? :p

What else? Nice ambience, good yuppie crowd ((a few “thundercats”) and quite near my office. I’m definitely eating there again!

And yep, I think Joko thought the Bugsy’s experience was worth the minutes of getting lost in Makati. :p

No U-Turn…

ABSOLUTELY!

After a shitload of recruitment stuff at Cybergate 3, we were picked up by our company van. On our way back to Makati, talking about how the job fair went, Kuya Albert Patrick, Mommy Lee and I didn’t notice the sign of all signs in Pioneer St, so before we knew it, Traffic Enforcer J.D. Delos Santos was already getting Kuya Albert’s license. After careful explanation, the good sir decided to let us go without taking our company driver’s license. We weren’t at all familiar with the area and we were sincerely sorry for not seeing the no u-turn sign. We know that the officer was just doing his duty and that he didn’t want any accidents happening on his turf, because apparently, a minimum of 2 accidents happen there per week. We also know that ignorance is not an excuse, thus I am blogging this to let you all know that there is an ABSOLUTELY NO U-TURN SIGN in Pioneer St. The sign is there at a gas station with a very weird name. (Name to follow, sorry, lost na utak ko sa mga pangyayari.) And I am blogging this to give my kudos to Traffic Enforcer J.D. Delos Santos for doing his job well and for not asking or even implying kotong.

This is me (with my Coke float) and the good sir…

If you see him, give him a high-five for me! And tell him that he can text or call me if he has any referrals for the CSR post. :p

And of course, here’s the sign to watch out for:

So there, Mandaluyong residents and visitors, learn from this!!! No U-TURN ABSOFUCKINLUTELY!!!

Vampires, Baci and Zero-Echo

Joko, Kassy, Dietrich and I watched Daybreakers last Monday. Now, why was excited to see that? What a waste of money. Most of the vampires in the movie are bad looking and they turn into Orc-like creatures if they don’t feed on blood. I mean come on! After watching Twilight, True Blood and Vampire Diaries and seeing Brad Pitt in that 90’s movie, I expect my vampires to be gorgeous even when they are close to ending their immortality! Hahaha, ok sorry. Nakikialam ako sa plot. :p Ang panget ng dialogue, espcially of Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke’s bro in the movie. The Matrix gray-black-blue look didn’t also do much if the aim is for an apocalyptic feel.

There are 2 things I liked about Daybreakers though. One is that the vampires burn up and die once exposed to the sun and do not sparkle like sissyboy Edward. Two, the twist’s actually pretty cool. If one gets over the ugly cast (Fine, cute si Ethan Hawke nung tao na siya. Haha, spoiler. Yes, he’ll be cured of vampirism!), one will find Daybreakers to be a good movie. Good, not great. Good defined as sana namili na lang ako ng pirated dvd. Or sana nagbasa na lang ako ng Hunger Games.

Saksakan ng cute na Joko, Kas & Dietrich (hoy, hindi pa Valentine’s) and me with my Daybreakers-disappointed-pero-smile-pa-rin look @ Sango, Rockwell after the Movie

Before I faced the 3-day job fair in Megatrade Hall, I went out for dinner and drinks to make sure I had enough happy memories as fuel. First, we had dindin at Padrino in A-Venue. Pizza and pasta. I liked the Baci (Kahlua+ Bailey’s+I don’t know the other strong alcohol… Green Cross, maybe? Hehe) I ordered. A little too strong for my usual liking, but I guess it was what I needed that night. Joko introduced me to Jeff, who she described as her fabulously gay friend. And yes, that’s how I would also describe him. :p I finally met someone who’s a sucker for Maricel Soriano movies and The Nanny like me! Yaaay!

After Padrino, Joko and I dropped by Capone’s to say hi-hello to RJ who dj’ed that night with Stan. Too bad we couldn’t stay long because we were also expected at Handlebar. Anyhooz, the grape margarita at Capone’s really something. I want one as we speak. Heh. Last stop was Handlebar for the MSA party. Jericho wasn’t there again, but it’s ok, because I stopped expecting him to be wherever I am. I now acknowledge the fact that when it comes to me meeting Echo, the universe is a bitch.

Padrino with Joko and her fave Pizza Margherita

And then… the following day, the AdExhibit  job fair at Megatrade Hall. Damn, it was tiring! But oh well, we won best booth again.

La la la.

The Best Popcorn

I just want to say I LOVE CHEF TONY’S POPCORN and THANK YOU to their exhibitors in the Jobstreet Jobfair @ SMX for feeding me my favorite maize treat last Saturday.

Love the caramel popcorn because of the perfect blend of sweet and savory tastes. plus, hindi ako nagkakaron ng tinga ‘pag ito kinakain ko! Hehehehehe!

They fed me lots of caramel popcorn. It was just my luck that their booth was right beside ours. :) Now, I’m craving for the white country cheddar flavor. Will get some when I have the time to watch Daybreakers. Cheese (gourmet) popcorn plus vampire movie with Ethan Hawke… sounds like a plan!

The Rotten Cherry

The bad tasting sundae:

Woke up early. Spent too much on so-so food. Remembered the douchebag-ex. Had an almost fight with someone from work. Drained from the job fair.

The rotten cherry on top:

Found out about this.
